These crowns were made for an indie horror movie called Plague Pits. 
They would be used in a flashback scene and a normal scene, resulting in an old and a new paint finish.
To get some designs to the client it was first made in wet clay, and after the approval, sculpted in monster clay.

The design was inspired by the statue of Perseus and Medusa on the Piazza Della Signoria in Florence.
After the sculpt was finished it was coated with silicone and a fibreglass jacket was made.
We then cast two, mixing resin microballoons with fast cast to reduce the weight.
These were sanded and heat-formed to fit a human head comfortably and then painted and weathered.
